Thumbs down Question for you Oregon residents:

So a while back I heard from someone that Oregon doesn't do emissions and when I move back down to Oregon I'll be renewing my tabs in November and had heard I'd need to pass emissions. I was just wondering if Oregon state DOES require emissions or not. Thanks!

It all depends on where you live. Some municipalities require it and some don't.

If you live in Burns you don't have to worry about it. If you live in the Portland metropolitan area, you do.

You should probably check with Oregon DMV

you should be able to pass unless you have test pipe or aftermarket ECU. Even test ipe would be hard to detect but wouldnt risk the chance of a fine here in WA.

Basically anyone that lives inside the urbangrowth boundry around the PDX area needs to pass emissions. I know that down in Salem, and further south, you don't have to pass any state mandated DEQ regulations. Eugene may have it's own regs, but I doubt it.

Oregon DMW site

It sounds like they only worry about emissions testing in the Portland and Medford areas.

Hahaha wow. The area I live in (Eugene) doesn't require emissions testing so I'm safe!
