AJ-R Throttle Body
Got the AJ-R TB installed today -- it's an exchange system so you basically give them your stock TB and get a replacement.
The TB is bored out to 71 mm and is tapered in to provide a funnelling/ram air effect.
I'm very happy with it -- awesome bang for you buck! Throttle response has definitely improved and mid-range boost kicks harder!

I'm not so sure the throttle body does as much as you claimed. And I'm pretty sure that you haven't gained any real speed/acceleration. I really wish we could get on a dyno and do a before/after thing with the bored out TBs and stop the speculation which is what we're all doing.
But is the AJ-R doing the same thing as Pro Flow?

Yup -- my experience with the AJ-R TB is completely subjective of course as I have not dyno'd my car before and after the conversion. But my experience with it has been nothing but positive and my butt dyno is happy -- that's what's important to me: if my butt 'feels' happy!
I think the AJ-R is basically the same conversion as the Pro-Flow -- how big does Pro-Flow bore out the TB? AJ-R is at 71 mm...technically, yes, more air is moving faster into the engine. How this translates into actual numbers -- I'm sorry, but I don't know.

It's tough to trust too many sources for automotive modding, but there were a couple of posts on this very board saying that Mugen claimed there were no gains to be seen from simply boring out the throttle body.
And about that better throttle response claim... how do you quantify this - especially when throttle response on it is already freakin' out of this world? Better mid-range... what exactly does better mid-range feel like especially on a car that covers such a wide RPM spectrum?
I don't know. I'm very happy with Pro Flow and their service, but not sure about the gains for ANY throttle body bore for our car.
