Default Finally broke down and bought something real

Lately I have been getting so sick of driving a non VTEC car that is just not fun to drive any more. So I am changing that. I should be picking up a 94 GSR in a couple days. I think I got a really good deal on it. I still have the buyers inspection to make sure everything is kosher.

Now the thing is that I have to personallize the car. Anyone know of a good place to get personalization parts? Specifically intakes

Intake is only good for ~3whp. I say that's a waste of money... unless you are thinking of getting a full exhaust system in the very near future (header, high-flow cat, exhaust). The best bang for your buck will be to tap the integra typeR parts bin. OEM quality with great HP gain. Look into intake and exhaust cams from ITR along w/ valve spring. Then, bolt on a JDM ITR 4-1 header (2.5" or 60mm piping) which would connect to a high-flow cat of your choice. This should give you a good 10-15whp easily. You might also have to change your ecu to accommodate the ITR cams (vtec x-over and fuel delivery). There's just so much to do to a 'teg... it's just how much money you got to burn.

As for suspesion, best bang for the buck is, once again, typeR rear sway bar. You can get good suspension parts from Eibach springs and Koni shocks. Last but not least, you definitely need to change your stock GS-R tires. (Micheline XGT-V4 sucks a big one.)

G'luck.

I guess for me the main reason for an intake is to get it to sound better. Its also probably the only mod I would do to this car. I don't want to spend money on this that could be put towards a nice S2000. What I should do is just sell my Condo and go buy one with that money. But that's not something very wise to do. I probably will get new tires on it but not until they need it.

I agree that there is so much you can to with a 'teg that you could spend 3 times what the car is worth in mods. But my goal is to have a very fast S2000, not a fast 'teg. It will be very hard not to spend money on the car but I will probably end up putting a picture of the S2000 tail lights right in front of the stearing wheel to remind me... I am slower than an S200.

SeaSTOOK - out of curiosity, do you have a s2000? Or, did you have one that got totalled?

In any case, if you want one that's fully assembled, get AEM CAI. I'm sure you can find one used for $150 on many message boards.

Umm, no comment on that... I wonder if I should do opposite of what you do.

Nope I don't have one. And I guess at this stage its going back in to the class of a dream car. I have wanted one since I saw the SSM concept car in '96. But its still a little out of my price range.

Hey at least I didn't get the head lights of an S and stick in on my rear view mirror

Forget the GS-R. Get a used Type-R and forget about the S2000 and set your sights higher after riding in the ITR for a while. S2000's nice, but damn, it's not THAT nice.

But an ITR doesn't have a roof that goes down. Which is a requirement for a long term car

Ben - you're so humble. Your S2000 is very nice... well, except for those rice red "H" emblems.

SS - There might still be a S/C-ed ITR at Lynwood Honda. It was there 3 months ago.
