Damn what a sucky deal this is! I'd consider swapping all the parts you want to keep for your next s2000, unless you are planning on buy this car back from insurance for parts.

ORRRRRNNNHAAAAAT DOOO!!!

This is gross: my insurance company doesn't think the car is totalled. They also couldn't get the hood up, so they feel that a shop needs to tear the car down to really appraise it. I've got a decent shop in mind, so it will probably have to get towed there. There's still a chance that it's totalled, but I fear that I'll be left with a near-totalled, sub-par, "fixed" S2K. All in all, I'm not too happy. Great way to end the summer

On a brighter note, at least you got to drive your car this summer. I'm still dealing with mine

Who are you having do the work? I need to find another mechanic to remove my trans, inspect and deal with why my clutch keeps coming loose from the flywheel. 3rd times a charm I hope

keep all of your reciepts (towing, rental car, etc) so they can be handed over to her insurance. I feel for you brother, your going to have alot of stress dealing with these people (insurance agent, bodyshop, etc)...... good luck

^^ Yeah man!! That's the worst part! It's endless phone calls, things not going your way, having to deal with a shop, sucking up personal / work time, being out of a fun car for an extended period of time... awesome...

To add to it, my thumb is still sore and my back is really irritating me. Anyone able to recommend a good doctor in the Bellevue/Kirkland (close to work) or Mill Creek (close to home) area?? I need to get these things checked out. I'll be super pissed if my back is still giving me trouble come snowboard season.

I think I've found a body shop to take my car to. Anyone dealt with Aldercrest in Lynnwood? They seem pretty reputable and I've had friends that have been satisfied with their work. Good reviews too. They're in State Farm's network of shops, which makes me kinda suspicious, but State Farm also guarantees the work done to the car for the life of the car. My agent told me that she has had to re-open claims for dissatisfied customers before. That's re-assuring if it's fixable, but I'm still hoping it's totalled!

I am a huge fan of Queen City Auto Rebuild in Redmond. They are pricey but they do amazing work. They brought my car back from the dead 5 years ago and it is still totally solid, like it was never in an accident. They may appraise it so high that your car gets totaled.

As for Doctors, go see my good friends at Orthopedics International. They have spine and hand specialists there. They are located at Evergreen hospital in Kirkland / Totem Lake. 206-323-1900
