The stock clutch will easily hold the power.
I wholeheartedly agree, though I still do prefer the ACT clutch/Comptech flywheel package over stock... stock power or 340HP+ power

04+ have a clutch delay. This could be causing, or did cause, your clutch problem.

Have you checked this thread out? 04-05 existing slave cylinder mod, PIC restored and updated

I've got just over 66K on my original clutch. 6K are SG. No slippage yet.

Mark,

You think the SC is worth it? Has it made your car more fun to drive? Does it exhibit the same sort of smoothness as a stock F20C does?

I'm pretty finicky about driveability and feel.

I had the pleasure of driving Jerry's S2000Porn mobile and it did have a great kick to it in vtec. It felt "rough" though but i'm not sure if it's because of the condition of his heavily tracked car or not

The feel and drivability is just about the same. A little more torque on the low end and the vtec punch is about the same. But that's when the power really starts building, on up to reline. It

It makes it a pretty quick car. With the SC, you're running with the new 911 Carrera S in the straights.

I removed the CDV on my 05 the 2nd day of ownership. I would highly suggest doing so as well IMHO, unless you're trying to save your diff

By the way I went for Vortech SC instead of Comptech SC because of my budget . I bought them through Jeg's High Performance Parts...for a very good price though. Anyway I found a shop in Portland, OR name is TorqueFreaks.... so I went down there yesterday to check them out so when I turned left towards they're parking lot. I'm seeing a lot of souped up markIII's and mark IV Supras and I said what the heck is going on here. Guess what.... they're having a Pacific Northwest meeting for dyno tuning at that place for only $25.00 for Toyota Supras exclusively only though Street Supras making 762 whp... that's amazing Anyway, It seems everybody are happy at that tuning shop and I talked to ----- and asked how much to install this said SC and he quoted me for a whopping $1000 after 30 minutes on bargaining down and to make the story short I got it down to $765 and he told me that's the best he can do. He only give that kind of discount to family and close friends..I guess i'm his close friends now So what you guys think should I let them do it.? Oh and I asked him if they're ASE certified and he said all of my mechanics here are all certified with some of them has 8 areas or categories of specialties. Still for me it's still alot of money of course after spending a lot of money on parts. It's just I've always like doing installation myself....like I did my suspension, big brake kit job, exhaust but they're all easy. I don't know....Let me know guys. Does anybody installed a Vortech SC here in Pacific Northwest by themselves. Thanks

the price they quoted you is reasonable, even considering the drive. They're a pretty reputable shop, especially when it comes to tuning the AEM EMS and have installed at least 2 comptech superchargers on S2000s in our area...probably more than that though. All that said, if you are really set on having someone do it for you, they would be a good shop.
