Wyatt, you can use my garage (house is near gravelly lake/lakewood) if you want to swap your springs. Although, I have never done a coilover/spring install on the s2k, I have done plenty of installs on other cars (3000gt, eclipse, civic hatch, integra gsr to name a few). Plus, we have our helpful DIY section like AP2Drifter has mentioned.

I have pneumatic tools, jacks, and some energy drinks so everything is good to go.

Also* You don't really need a compressor tool for just removing the springs. You can use a high tension rope and tie the springs while they are still compressed in the struts. When you remove the struts, the rope will prevent the springs from decompression and for a safe removal. (It always saved me a trip to autozone and borrowing a spring compressor)

Wow, great. Thanks for the offer. What's your drink/take-out meal request?

I am in Vancouver for school now but I will check when I'm headed back to Tacoma next. Springs are backordered anyway so I'll have to wait. But I'll PM you once all else falls into place and if your schedule fits it, then I'll be forever in your debt!
Thanks again.

$200 seems like a pretty reasonable price, actually. Couple hours in the shop.

S2KADDICTED your awesme!

wyatt
I havent got an alignment done yet, planning on doing it his weekend along with my Lexus. Any good alignment shops you can reccomend? I wasnt aware that UK & US had diff alignment specs... Ill have to read up on that, why do you prefer the UK?

It shouldnt have too much of an effect on the rear of your AP1 as they are similar too espelirs just softer and lower, the AP2's have super soft rear springs. I read alot on the "ultimate spring thread" and they have the factory spring rates there to compare its good info.

pretty funny.....
I called skunk2 and wasnt impressed with their spring rates and I called Megan and they couldnt even tell me their spring rates!!!

Wyatt: Don't mention it... You're helping me out with the intake so I am just returning the favor. No need to bring anything and plus I heard you know my friend Jerry? He works at the Ymca? He is a good guy...

Just let me know when you are in town and we'll tackle the project over the weekend if possible.

AP2DRIFTER: Did you ever fix that check engine light of yours? I never got a reply back so I didn't know if you still needed my help.

As far as the UK alignment specs goes: I've heard pros and cons from each driver who changed their specs.

The picture below might help if you are considering it. Unfortunately, I cannot give you any personal advice because I've never tried it out myself. There is a pretty chill tech who works at the Firestone down here in Lakewood... He is a good guy and I believe they do lifetime alignments so if ever you want to switch back to US specs, you can get it done for free...

Hope that helps...

I had the UK-spec on my GPW and liked it. It's pretty nice and tolerable without being super aggressive.

Wow, how do you know Jerry? He is my best friend. Actually came to visit me in Vancouver 2 weeks ago!

S2kaddicted: Yeah I solved it, sorry I didnt answer back... I did update my post though. Thanks a bunch for the quick response on the UK alignment specs... looks like they might cause a liittle more tire wear (camber) but I think I will try it out especially with the lifetime alignment. Thanks a bunch

Wyatt: I was supposed to trade you sidemarkers before you left for the 3 weeks... I couldnt wait and I bought CR sidemarkers already, sorry.
What kind of coilovers did you have before?

Ahhh, okay no worries! Someone else will probably trade still.

I have Buddy Club Race Spec before.

UK Alignment doesn't add that much more tire wear. Sure it increases camber a little, but it's nothing like what some people have to run to make wacky wheels fit. And it's OEM across the pond.

I really recommend Dodd's Automotive in Tacoma for the performance alignment. Tell them you're friends with the Hansons.
