and while it should take an hour, it ends up taking 3 because of either stupid gas lines, extremely tight bolts that require breaker bars and trips to the tool store, lunch break, etc etc unforeseeable problems.
I know that story all too well!

yeah. i think the only thing that REALLY takes an hour is an air filter swap. anything more than that and you run into unknown problems! lol

*proof i'm probably just mentally slow. i bet RT and WSB can install a new valvetrain or a new final gear in 20-25 minutes.

Wyatt: I actually know Jerry from the YMCA. I work on the weekends so I run into him... I also see him when I go there to exercise mon-fri...

He told me he was in a market for a s2k and he told me he was trying to get his friend "Wyatt" to sell him one...

That is hilarious. Wow.

Yeah, we threw that idea around for a while and if he's still interested, he still can. We are trying to convince him to get an IS300.

Hopefully he doesn't get a car until the summer then I can sell him a cleaned-up S2000!

I'm sure I've seen you at the YMCA. I worked there over the summer with the Fit For Fun day camp.

Wyatt, you can use my garage (house is near gravelly lake/lakewood) if you want to swap your springs. Although, I have never done a coilover/spring install on the s2k, I have done plenty of installs on other cars (3000gt, eclipse, civic hatch, integra gsr to name a few). Plus, we have our helpful DIY section like AP2Drifter has mentioned.

I have pneumatic tools, jacks, and some energy drinks so everything is good to go.

Also* You don't really need a compressor tool for just removing the springs. You can use a high tension rope and tie the springs while they are still compressed in the struts. When you remove the struts, the rope will prevent the springs from decompression and for a safe removal. (It always saved me a trip to autozone and borrowing a spring compressor)
Do you remove the spring, and keep the rope installed? hmm. for some reason, .this sounds like a very bad (and Ghetto) idea. Is it really that much time out of your day to drive to Autozone/Shucks/Napa/etc, etc, to borrow a spring compressor?
