[QUOTE=NFRs2000NYC,Jul 31 2007, 09:33 PM] As for the pocket wizards, I still don't get it....As far as I understand, there are two units with antennas...one sits on the camera hot shoe, and the other has a flash plugged into it.

What'd you choose for an umbrella? How big, shoot-through,...? Inquiring minds want to know.
32" Satin white, with a removable black cover for shooting through.

Ill take a pic of the goods in a minute.....

How do you like the pocket wizards?

Right now I have a 430EX and an off-shoe cord.. my options are:

1. Get a vivitar flash strobist kit with an wein peanut, use the 430 to optically trigger the vivitar
2. Get a 580EX II, use it's wireless capability to master the 430ex
3. Get the gadget infinity remotes

I keep jumping around between 1 and 2, but I spose 3 is a low cost low risk way to try it..

I havent used them yet, and I know they work well, but first impressions....HUGE PIECES OF SH!T and Im not kidding. They are 100% cheap crap plastic, with a crappy hotshoe mount (plastic) and the dinkiest hot shoe screw down Ive ever seen. I was APPALLED by the build quality for a product costing almost $200 EACH!!!!!!, and less complicated than a walkie talkie. My two way motorola radios from the Dragon that cost me 30 bucks for the pair are built 1000 times better than these things. Tell you what...they better have awesome performance.

Just wanted to update....I still think they are pieces of crap as far as build, but goddammit they work..and work damn well.
