Just an update:
As you all have witnessed, the last 48 hours has been raining a fair amount. I had the car parked outside overnight on Saturday when the rain was pretty heavy and steady (almost turning to snow around 1 AM). Then in the morning, I fired it up and drove home in the rain.
My point is that even with the rain channels NOT being used, water getting into the engine bay was no issue whatsoever. One of the most common questions asked is how do you keep the water from going into those vents. The answer: "Who cares? It doesn't matter." This is what I've said all along. You can wash the engine with a garden hose and immediately fire it up and drive it away. About the only reason I can see for using the rain channels is to keep the engine bay cleaner, longer. Besides, with the rain channels installed, this defeats the purpose of trying to get the heat out fast.
I hereby declare this hood "rain approved".

That's good to hear xviper. We've had quite a bit of rain here in Wpg recently as well. I wasn't too concerned, but this puts to rest ANY doubts that I've had. Thanks for the update...

Since my post of Aug. 23 (2 posts up), I've encountered more rain. My opinion has not changed. The hood presents no operational issues in terms of parking or driving in heavy rain. (Only cleanliness issues - the engine bay gets lots of water spots after the water has been "boiled" off.)
My only concern originally was water falling onto the hot exhaust header. But since the nearest vent to the header is not directly over it, this is not a problem either.

he he.
i brought back dennis' hardtop (black) on my silverstone last night and i couldn't stop thinking how nice a black CF hood would look with a black hardtop (preferebly mugen CF, though).
