As I was on my way to Superstore at around 9 pm, I look in my rear view mirror and I saw a dark grey Boxster a few car lengths behind me. I came up to a light and Boxster (non "S") pulls up beside me. As soon as the driver and I looked at each other, we started to realize we know each other from way back years ago. We did the typical "hey how's going...long time no see" crap before the light turned green.

We just took off from a stop normally and I then noticed that he started flooring it a couple seconds later. I was still in 1st gear so I gunned it. Basically I beat it and blew its doors off until we caught another red light just about a km down the road. He asked me how much torque my car has (he knew how much hp there is). He then asked me if i wanna head to 2nd cup for coffee or something. He then pointed out the light is about to turn green and ask me to go for it. I didn't say yes or no but I just rev my engine just for the heck of it anyway.

Well, I didn't drop the clutch or launch hard . I just took off from the line normally and then floor it immediately after my car is on a roll. He launch his car. Obviously he beat me furthur down but I was catching up to him . We shut er down and we proceeded to 2nd cup.

I didn't even go to Superstore after that to get my insoles for my new pair of Nike's

 

I am like you, I wouldn't launch. I'll go on a roll though
