i want to change out the stock hu and the speakers cause they sound sooo crappy... but it sucks that i loose the audio controls on the push button start area

doing that qube mod looks cool... looks pretty complicated... makes that audio control more useful... has anyone here done it?

When I had my '01 I found simply adding rear speakers (move the stock ones to the rear and upgrade the fronts), and then adding a sub/amp was more than sufficient to make it sound decent.

I haven't even touched my '04 yet, it actually sounds worlds better (stock) than my '01 did, which I find quite suprising. I still have my sub/amp sitting in the garage, haven't found it really necessary to install them.

I'm running the Modifry DCI unit. You can get them from the s2ki online store here. It works like a charm with a newer Alpine head unit I have. Install was simple, but then again, I'm a practicing electrical engineer, so the wiring on a stereo install is not terribly complicated for me.
