Default Yellowstone Trip

As the trip is now: we are planning to drive up in one day, spend one day there, and drive back on the last day. I have had a lot of people tell that we need to spend more than 1 day in the Yellowstone/Tetons area. So I was wondering if people would want to extend the trip one more day, or do you want to keep it as is?

For those that have never been to Yellowstone, one day is no where near adequate to see everything there is to see. IMHO, you should allow one full day for each loop. It may appear on the map that it will take very little time to get from one site to the next, but traffic does not move fast there and you will need to be prepared for complete stops of traffic in both directions while everyone gets out of their vehicles to look at wildlife.

There isn't much to see between here and there, so you may as well allow the extra time there and enjoy it!

Not sure what route everyone is planning on, but if you can somehow make a loop of it and include a drive through the Bighorns and Chief Joseph Highway, it is well worth it. Brandon and I did this ride last summer on the motorcycles and just picked up the very north-east corner of Yellowstone. Pictures here.

Enjoy!

When we were on that little drive last weekend, I was thinking this car would be a blast on Cheif Joe Highway......................I might even be up for that drive........shoot straight up to Sheridan ( think thats where we came over the Big Horns)..........cut across to Cody, then up Chief Joe into the park.

Hey Kyle,

Thanks for posting this poll. I know we talked about it on Sat. I think thursday through Sunday would be best, so we could have one full day on a weekday, so we don't hit as much traffic.

GO 4 DAYS

Hopefully we will decide by the end of this week so we can start making arrangements.

So are we going to look at friday through monday, or are we looking at thursday through sunday? I have that monday off due to the holiday, so my vote goes for friday through monday. That is if we decide to do the four day trip.
