Ladies/ Gents

I am trying to personalize my tail lights. Can anyone provide me with more info/pics on what people have done before with cracking them open and painting the insides? I am not interested in doing LED's.
Planning on possibly baking them this weekend and pulling the red side reflector out of them, painting that area black if its chrome underneath. I found a few old forums, but the pictures seem to have been deleted.
I have done my headlights myself pics below. As you can see the plan for my entire car is to keep it silverstone with flat black pieces around the car.
