AP2 front lip install 'almost fail'
I received the package a shiny Rio Yellow Pearl front lip today. The instructions said it would take about 2 to 3 hrs to install. 'WRONG'. So after reading the manual, cleaning and prepping for it, I took off the adhesive tape and put masking tape on it so they can be pulled out after it was mounted. After I spent an ungodly amount of time screwing the bolts on, I realized... I was missing a section of adhesive. I forgot to pull one strip out. One of the large ones in the center!
There was no way I was going to take it all down again, so I figured...meh, what's the worse that could happen? *sigh* So 4+ dejected hours later, (this included pre install prep work btw), I finally finished! I don't think it'll fall off or anything, but who knows!
Now that I have experience, I think I can do it again, in hopefully 2-3hrs. The hardest part was:
a) not having much space to work with when putting the bolts on. I didn't jack up my car, so the room was awful and cramped. Basically I was trying to attach the bolts blindly by feel.
b)not realizing I had to drill towards the end to mount the side screws, I kept on hand screwing them in wondering why on earth they wouldn't go in.
mainly a was what killed me. I almost gave up and was going to drive my car up the ramps to jack up the car, but decided I've already committed to this, there's no way I'm backing off now and making it an even 'longer' install process. If I had to do it again, I would probably jack up my car.

I hadn't thought of that! And yes, I agree, jacking the car up is a royal pain in the butt. I jacked up my gs-r today to do a tranny fluid change, and haha, it was so easy! I guess a low pro jack would help, but i've already invested in 2 other jacks, so I don't feel like upgrading.
