Default Rear trim removal

I am respraying my S and I am unsure on how to remove the plastic trim that goes around the top? The window trim popped off by clips. Anyone who painted their S have any idea??? Thank you!

It's not easy. I don't think Honda ever considered it would need to be removed when they were designing it.

Search for a soft top replacement thread for the first part, then look at the exploded parts view on www.estore.honda.com to see the individual parts that are left.

When it comes time to put it back together you have to be very careful to not damage your new paint.

You have to remove the back galf of the softop. obce that is out you wilk see screws holding that black trim on. be very careful not to bend it.

And once the screws are all removed there is still some adhesive holding it in.

It's a pain, but for me it was worth it to end up with perfect paint around and under that trim piece. I'm glad I did it.

Here's a pic that shows the silver bolts that need to be removed.
