Side Damage - should i get a full respray
Hi Guys,
First time posting here! have owned my S2000 for about five months. Last week a car drove into the side of me damaging my door and rear quoter panel.
The back arches have some rust on them so was going to get them sprayed anyway and the front and back bumper could do with a re-sparay.
Now i am thinking if I'm getting the right side sprayed the two bumpers and the back left quoter panel should i just get the whole car resprayed.
What is the best way to repair the rusty arches?
Should I get a new door or is a new door skin just as good?
And is there anything else i should think of doing to the body of the car before it goes for re-spray? maybe roll arches?
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

if you want to save the money, only fix the damaged and rusted spots. important thing is to blend the new paint into the old stuff so its not as noticable. generally if you paint just a fender it will be obvious depending on how old the paint is.. so you would blend half way into the door. My best friend has a custom shop sopecializing in RHD conversions (mostly hondas, but also nissan and subaru) and some really crazy body stuff like full shaved bays and wide body kits. just my 2 cents from my experiences with him
You really shouldn't ever have a problem blending the colors when it is a base coat/ clear coat unless either a)your paint is noticably faded or b) it is a candy or tri-coat. with base coat clear coat any half decent painted can blend it and make it look nice.
most of the s2k colors are tri coats and a pia to blend imo, as to get the number of candy coats correct is hard, to many variables. Most shops will respray whole car for not much more as it not much more in material. to do whole car at that point and you will get a much better overall color. if your talking to spray as much as you want to fix it they will be spraying the whole drivers side and most of the hood and most of the other fender and most of the other qtr. to blend them.... and then have to sand it all, they can just spray the whole car and be done no sanding just a good buff job and be on there way. so might end up less as its more material but less labor.
