Side Mirror Glass Removal

Side Mirror Glass Removal
Hi guys,
As topic states, I am after some guidance with how to remove the mirror from the actual mirror housing. I already have found information on how to remove the glass from the black piece.
I have gone through a few threads but can't find anything 100%. It looks like you just need to pull really hard on the mirror from the bottom (pulling outwards towards the rear of the car). I have tried this and it feels like something is about to snap.. Am I doing it right or is there something I am missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Just did mine this weekend. Do pull at bottom edge. Once free slide upwards to release the top tabs. I heated a bowl of water in the microwave and soaked housing for a few minutes. Removed old glass, cleaned and replaced with new glass. Re-installed in reverse hanging mirror on top tabs then pushing at bottom until it clicks.

I installed a new OEM JDM "right hand drive" convex mirror (Honda) for my left mirror. Removal of old mirror is the same.
If you can leave it out in the sun to warm up, it would help. Get fingers from both hands under the bottom edge evenly. Do not yank. Apply steady pulling force. It may take a minute or two before you notice movement. Keep the pressure on and it will swing out and then lift up and off. The resistance is from a white non hardening putty that keeps the mirror locked in position and keeps vibration to a minimum. You can re-use it.
