Default 18s on Stock Height

I want to get 18s for my car, but I wanna run stock height. I'm going to get coilovers, but (still deciding, if I am going to lower it) just for a better street comfort ride.
ANYWAY, back to the real question.
I want to get 18s for my car, run stock height, and have no rub. Can anyone help me out with specs?
The reason I wanna run 18s is to have a lesser wheel gap from the fender. Don't wanna lower it because I scrape my front bumper on stock height.
Need wheel and tire specs pls help! Thanks guys!

Typically when folks move to 18" the sidewall height is reduced, keeping the overall diameter of the tire the same as OEM, so in that scenario you would have no wheel gap change. I wouldn't recommend your reasoning for moving to 18's. You would be losing performance and increasing the cost of replacement tires vs 17's as well.

The proper 17" to 18" equivalency for example would be 245/40/17 = 245/35/18.

If you increase the overall diameter, you will reduce the wheel gap, but you also increase how high the car sits off the ground. Have you rolled your fenders? Do you want to run a square setup?

If you run bigger total diameter tires, you will be raising the car higher off the ground giving it a mildly lifted look. Also you will be effectively raising the gear ratio and adding wheel weight, making the car slower. Mayb e not by much but why would you want to do that?

Cliff notes: Don't do it!

you can opticaly reduce the gap with lower ofset wheel and stay with 17".

I have 17×8 with 45 ofset on stock height and it looks better than stock...

The last time I saw 18 inch wheels on a stock S, it looked like it was a Miata.
