Default Lower or Keep stock

Hey I have a question for all the people on here that know more than me. I am looking into lowering my car 1" (00 with 104k) and putting on some 18" CCW wheels, my question is can I lower it 1" by just getting coilovers and doing nothing else or is there going to be a need for supporting modifications? My other question is if I lower 1" and go from 16" rims to 18" rims is my car going to ride lower to the ground (less clearance) or would the bigger rims negate the lowering?

You car should have the same ride height as long as you make sure to buy the right tires and keep the rolling radius of the wheel and tire the same or very close to oem. This is what on a 17x9 you run a 255/40/17 tire and on an 18x9 you run a 255/35/18 tire. In short wheel and tire size should not make the car ride lower or higher as lone as the setup is correct.

As for lowering with coilovers you should have enough adjustment to have stock ride height or scrapping the ground ride height. That's why they are adjustable. You will need a fender roll and tab relo with ccw's unless you buy oem spec ones and that would make no sense.
