I would be careful sourcing new tires from Ebay. Check the date code on the tires before purchase. A set of R-comps that have spent 3 winters in a Bulgarian warehouse wont be worth much.
From my research, the intersection of grip, streetability, durability, heat tolerance and price is right on top of the NT-01. Its an older tire, but if you want a better R-comp you will pay much more. Yesterdays R-comps are more like todays EHP tires like the Rival 1.5S or RE71. Buying an older R-comp can get you the same grip as an elite EHP tire without the peaky heat cycling, low durability and high price and some availability issues. If you want to save money coming from Trofeo Rs, I say NT01.

Right, they have both the hard and soft on ebay. However, I dug into the description a bit and they are dated 2011, so they're already 6 years old. I guess at the price they might still be a deal for HPDE.

The ebay link I posted says 2012 or newer. I bought 2013 production year RA1s and they're fine. The date doesn't bother me as long as they were stored in a temp-controlled warehouse, which major brands are.
