The 8242 was never made for the S2k directly from Koni as far as I know. It is a double adjustable shock and is quite a bit better than the typical yellows, etc. TC Kline sold the 8242 made for our mounts years ago (they also made them for BMW's). I bought set off an autocrosser where I used to live back in about 2016. I have since had them rebuilt of course but I like them. MCS or similar will be a lot better but Im kinda cheap sometimes and these have served me well so I keep running them. You kinda have to figure out their valving and adjustment and how they work best, but mine have done well.

I did try Koni yellows that I got free with the car when I bought it and that did not last long. For softer setups they will work but there are a lot better options. For me, running spring rates 700 lb/in they sucked. I had them revalved and ran them cause I had them and tried to make them work but finally chatted with Lee at Koni who told me they simply would never work well for that high of spring rate regardless of valving. But a set of Bilstein's is going to be a lot better than those IMO even without the higher spring rates.

I think what i'll do is look at the Bilstein's but will also check the MeisterR's (keeping in mind what I said about coilvers). As long as I don't have to adjust them all the time (which I don't with my NC), I should be ok, I think/hope!

I have a set of Bilstein with just minimal lowering dialed in. I could say that they are a upgrade over the Stock suspension. Car simply "Feels" better when you drive it fast on Country roads. I am very happy with it.

Thank you for citing your experience. It helps to narrow a decision.

Any opinions on the PSS (B14)? Having a difficult time locating the B16, but I can at least buy the B14 from Tire Rack. Road use only, no track time.

The B16 has the advantage that you can adjust the damping in 9 steps soft-hard. Even for "Only Street" use, this is very, very handy. Set the tyre to a pressure where the tyre works best and then adjust the Damping so that you like the feeling.
I would take my time and search for a B16.

I would opt for the B16 so that you can set the damping how you like.

I contacted Bilstein USA and the B16(PSS9) kit is discontinued.

I had just about talked myself into the Fortune Auto 500s when I noticed their warranty is written such that it explicitly doesn't apply if the car is driven on the street (any public roads). WTF? I'm back to square one now.

B14 appears to still be available at TireRack (in stock).

I ended up ordering the Fortune Auto coilovers as I wanted something. With adjustable damping, but didn't want to shell out ~$3kfor the Ohlins.
