Default ground control spring rate question

I'm looking to lower my s2000 about an 1" front and rear. I dont want to go with eibach pro kit cuz I have a feeling it won't drop to my personal preference. So I want the adjustablility of the ground controls to make my ride height spot on. What spring rates would I want to get a stiffer ride but not bouncy. Stock spring rates for a 2003 is f240/r230. It looks like the pro kit runs f260/r340. I want stiffer than stock but I don't want to bounce. Any recommendations?

I would get as close to the CR rates as possiable. That is assuming you do not want to go higher.

i went from 515 in/lb to 350 in/lb on my kw's. closest rate to CR is 375F and 350R if I'm not wrong. You may have some trouble having the springs sit correctly on the stock spring perch.

I'm confused, are you going to be running GC coilovers on stock dampers? Or are you going to go to a Koni shock?

I definitely wouldn't go over 400lb springs then, if you're wanting a little stiffer than stock I'd say CR rates would be good. If you go too high it's going to get bouncy because you'll be over sprung (too stiff a spring without proper dampening to compensate).

Should I just go with Megan tracks instead?

Megan track has much higher spring rate, don't they? Of course they also come with dampers that are valved for stiff springs but I am guessing the ride will be very different from using stock dampers and GC springs.

I am also looking at getting the GCs (koni shocks + spring), and I wonder how they compare to full blown coilovers like KW V3s or TEIN Mono Flex, etc. GCs are much less expensive.

I had the Koni/GC setup with 550F and 500R spring rates. It was great for the price and for Autocross. Not sure it would make a good DD setup. I had mine set up pretty stiff shock wise and since I did not DD the car I left it that way all the time. I suppose on full soft it mide ride closer to stock.

I have the GC Koni combo and their autox recommended rates . Believe 550 and 450 if memory serves, the ride on full soft is stiff but soaks up street bumps very well on full firm it was track only for sure way to stiff to soak up bumps.

Ride was better than my buddies js racing coilovers they couldn't take a bump to save their life so damn stiff. The car would lose grip and skate across the road if God forbid there was a crack in the road halfway in a corner. No such issue with the GC Koni combo I dd mine 80 mile a day commute
