Default Suspension idea

So I would like to mod my suspension and lower the car but am afraid to upset its balance b/c honestly it feels so good stock. Probably the biggest motivating factor for me is to lower the car to improve appearence w/ both stock wheels and aftermarket wheels which will probably come later.

I've thought about doing an aftermarket coilover but don't want punishing spring rates (been there, done that). I won't be tracking this car for now but may do occasional autocross events (I have years and years of experience w/ both).

I have some Tein S techs itching to be installed but was wondering how the stock shocks would handle the increased rate. Stock 07 rates are F 256 and R 207. S Techs are F 297 and R 364. Lucky for all of us CR parts are available and bolt right on. I thought about installing CR spring/shock combo but this won't lower the car. CR spring rates are F 378 R 264.

I've come to the conclusion that S Techs/CR shocks may be a doable combo. The shocks are about $700 from HardTopGuy (plus shipping). I get increased damping plus a lower stance. The only downside I guess is that the front shocks may be a bit over dampened and the rears may be a bit under dampened.

Thoughts? TIA.

IMO, the Tein S-tech is one of the best springs for the S2000s. why? coz it got a stiffer front and a mild stiffer rear, which solved the main problem for the AP1s. stiffer front for more understeer and stability and more grab in the rear. also its a 1.25" drop all-round which also dont hurt our suspension compare to other brand(longlasting). i saw ppl hving them for more than 30K miles without an issue. the best thing...ITS CHEAP...u pay 200 bucks and u get everything u need..looks and performance. its really a good combination with the stock shocks.

PS. But still, it does the best that springs can do. never a competitor with coilovers....

imo, it's a good spring to use with stock damper, IF You want to go that way.

no offense but most of the people complaint about ap1 being tail happy are not the people track their car all their time. to some it might be excessive but i see exactly why honda use that rate in the first place.

and it's a one inch drop only

the old stech used to sag all the time, i hope they change the manufacturing process now.
