Default Rear End Twitching

Looking for as much help with this as possible.

Hoping this is the right section also, if it is not mods please feel free to move.

Basically I am finding my S2K very twitchy, shaky etc when going in straight lines. When I accelerate it pulls ever so slightly to the left and when I throttle off it pulls sightly in the other direction??
When changing gears at speeds over 60kph it feels like the rear wants to kick out. I have the car since October and is a problem that has developed since I got the car so not from a previous owner.

I want to try get to the bottom of this as I want to be able to enjoy the car as use it to its full potential but cant due to worrying when changing gears at higher speeds

Currently the car is sitting very very low on coilovers, 40 profile tyres with 17' rims. It does have a diff in it but I do not think it is a 2 way previous owner said it is a 1.5 way????

I have been told by a few people thats its cause the car is to rigid and this is what is making it want to jump. Can any please advise on previous experience/stories??

Thanks,
Mark

id have the alignment checked and swap the tires from left to right and see if the "twitch" seems to change direction.

if the tires are worn unevenly or feathered at all it can cause funny things to happen.

First check the tire pressure, they should be the same on both sides.

I'll second the tire pressure thing. Alignment could be it as well.

check your drive shaft/propeller, if your rear coupler starts to get play, it will cause a vibration, i had the same problem, take off your drive shaft/propeller and take it to a drive line shop and they will tell you if its bad or not, also on a lower s2000 sometimes axle spacers are need because of axle movement

uneven tire wear... can be apparent even after alignment or after lowering...
if this is the issue, tires will just wear in eventually.

different tire brand/tread pattern from front to rear can cause this...

I wonder what was the cause and resolution, i have a similar issue with 2000 s2. Tires have been replaced and alignment was just re-done.

Sounds like an alignment issue. If the car is lowered don't ever assume the previous owner did it right, people butcher our cars all the time, the s2000 as amazing as it is, has gotten to the price point of a Civic, which means all the idiot ricers who used to own and butcher civics have upgraded to an s2000. Its a damn shame really.
