I went to the famous streets of willow race track a few weeks ago and absolutely loved how my bilstein pss's felt! It feels stiffer than stock and felt very composed over quick switchbacks and dips. Its a quality coilover thats well made and has decent shock dyno's for a coilover of its grade and rides like butter on the streets. THough I will admit that you if you delve into more tracking/autox you will want something stiffer, but for me the s2k is mainly a weekender and will probably only see the track about twice a year and I love them! Also if you decide to go with the bilsteins, many have said to go with the pss over the pss9's since the adjuster on the pss9 tends to only adjust the high speed characteristics of the shock.

Don't listen to anyone here some people have prejudices towards different brands or knock on one because it's perceived as budget. Just go to a local meet if there is one nearby and ask to take a ride to compare plain and simple. That's what I did. Drove a car with Megan Tracks, Buddy Club N+, Racing Spec, HKS Hipermax, Tein SRC, KWv3s, Pss9. I'm happy with the decision I made after trying all of them. Take into account what you want. If you care about comfort, want to slam, track, autocross, cruise, etc. You don't want to spend $$$ on a set of Moton Triples only if you are gonna slam your car, overkill if you ask me. I have Megan Tracks, I track regularly and daily my car with no complaints.

+1

What coilover is best for you really depends on what your goals are.

I went with the KWv3s because I wanted something to ballance between my semi-daily driving, and weekend backroad runs. I also may track the car at some point. PSS9s were my second choice. I did not want to be slammed, I wanted a well built coilover with firm but compliant damping and plenty of options for track/autocross use if I go that way in the future.

If I can put out one observation....

There are a lot of coilovers that have high spring rates and marginal damping. Where you start running into $$$ for coilovers is for the set-ups that have a quality damper that is well matched to the spring rate being used.

For daily driving and light track duty, and for only 950 shipped from LSD motorsports why wouldn't you go with the buddy club n+. very capable set up for your application. I know I bought mine for the same reason and I love em.

Call LSD and make sure to mention your and s2ki member and they will hook you up. Good ppl over there.

Brands I would never buy:

Megans
Stance
D2
Function & Form

all are cheap POS.
All you people who are happy with your "budget" coilovers are only happy cuz that is all you know compared to stock or springs,...spend some time pushing the car to the limit at an autox or track on that stuff and see what happens,...then ride in a well equipped car
I love my buddy club N+ sooo so much. I love the performance during my track day, and auto cross with them. They works awesome for the price that I paid for them. The only draw back is lack in dampI need more adjustment. I wish I have more money for buddy club evo!!

well, if you read the original post, he is looking for something to just whip around town in, not "push the car to the limits in an autox or track event"
