2-8" or 1-10"
I just bought my ideal setup, along with the Hertz catalog. Alpine CDA-9887, Hertz HSK165, Alpine PDX 2.150, I was going to purchase a Diamond D610 and Alpine PDX1.600 and build a toolwell box. Upon perusing the Hertz catalog, I can't help but wonder if I wouldn't be better off getting 2 of the Hertz Space 8", with the reversed magnets, to fit behind the seats running the PDX 4.150, or stick with the sub in the trunk running the PDX 2.150 & the PDX 1.600... It seems as though keeping all the sound in our cabin would be the best. I'm not bass hungry, but I do know subs can make or break a system.

Eh, go with the 12" in the toolwell.
If you're going to go for bass, go all the way and cover the subwoofer freq range properly

but i think 2 8's in the cabin would probably produce the cleanest sound and sound wouldnt get lost..being that it is soo close.
I would recommend trying to squeeze a 12 in the toolwell before doing two 8's if you can't get a 12 to fit go with a better 10. 8's are more of a crutch then a help, in my opinion.
FYI, Hertz doesnt offer a 8" sub in the space lineup. The 8" you are referring to is a midbass driver. Plays midbass and midrange.
Hertz offers great SQ at all the price ranges, while diamond... well cant say anything good in terms of SQ.
Hertz and Audison are directly related btw. If youre into italian sound and products... good choice
