no, I leave mine in the car when I daily drive the car in the summer, never have issues.

Like I said, the problem is with how the iPods were designed, not Alpine's problem.

no, iPod goes into sleep mode(which is still on and draws minimal power), not shut off

if it actually shuts off, you'll have to wait for a minute for it to turn back on every time your stereo system is started(reboot).
