Default adding a sound system and need advice

I recently bought an 01 s2k (on Friday) and as you all know they stock speakers are horrible. The car came with an after market Head Unit but that's it. I don't have a budget in mind and im just looking for some decent sound and probably a sub. I have read the stickies and they have helped but they just bring up more questions.

To start out with I have this HU
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Sup...DEH-P510UB.Kuro

I also have this AMP from a previous set up in my old car (i think it is actually an older version but specs are the same)

http://www.bazooka.com/products/mobile/Amp...t-Amplifier-P69

1) The best Idea I have come up with so far is to buy 2 radial speakers for the door using the HU to power them and a sub for the trunk well powered by the amp I already have.

2) My second idea was to buy a 4 channel amp along with speakers and sub. I would use 2 channels for the speakers and bridge the other two for the sub. Only problem is i would have to buy another amp and the sub would be underpowered. This is why this is my second option so far.

Some of my questions are.

What front speakers should I get and from where? I know it is hard for some speakers to fit in the doors.

If I buy a sub what should I get? i was looking at a 12in alpine type R. Would my amp be able to power it? The amp is 500RMS and the type R is 300-600RMS I think.

Also I want to have a 2ohm set up. Would that mean I would have to buy a sub with dual 4ohm coils and run them in parallel?

Is it also possible to make a sub box with hand tools for a reasonable price? It doesn't look to hard to make the boxes but I just have a few basic hand tools and would have to buy any tools that are required. The only other option i have seen is to buy a TW box from here.

Also. If I do the first option I listed, is it possible to buy a second amp down the line and use it to power the two front speakers?

Thanks

I was also wondering if I could get the dash controls to work for the HU listed above. I know there are someways of getting the controls to work for some HUs but I haven't been able to find specific information about it.

Erik,

Best advice I can first say is search the Electronics section. There's tons of info with people's builds here. There are different sub options out there (someone even made a passenger footwell enclosure for a 10" sub).

From what I've seen, alternatives cost from 60-99 dollars but have less features and are a hassle to install because you have to program them. There's also a lag issue because of how they work. If you want to look into those just search "Dash Control Interface" on Amazon. I'm upgrading my audio too and I'm gonna get the wired one for a DEH-7200HD.

darksidesubs

sorry for the late update but im just getting everything ordered now.

I decided to go with an 12in alpine type r in the truckwell and ordered a trunkwell box
I am going to have a pair of polk speakers powered buy a small 2 channel amp (I don't want it to go boom boom boom I just want to hear them over the exhaust)

I am mounting the amps with an amp rack I am buying and powering the sub with the bazooka amp I already have. Might not power it the best I don't don't need something really loud. The only reason I am buying the type R is because after I have to spend around 300 for the sub box and amp rack I thought I might as well get a half way decent sub.
