I've read around on speakers and some people recommended adire speakers. Anyone ever had this in their car? How does it sound? I heard they have a 3" mounting depth, would it be possible to mount these on s2k with some plastic cutting ? Planning to use the xtc speaker cover for the water leak(thats if it does leak)

 

Basically, you have a 53mm mounting depth with the S (to clear the plastic knob on the window). Add a 3/4" spacer and that gives you a total of 72.05mm mounting depth.

If you're really looking for a high SQ build, you should go with the Stereo Integrity Mag V4 crossed at 100Hz (yes, it plays VERY well at that freq) and run 5 1/4" door speakers (since you're making a spacer anyway, you can simply adjust the cutout to the 5 1/4"). The mounting depth on 5 1/4" speakers is quite a bit lower than that of a comparable 6 1/2" and as the SI Mag covers a higher freq range than most subs, you can afford to run 5 1/4" without losing full range coverage.
