Advice Needed: Easy/Cheap Stereo Upgrades
PAS2Knut: are you coming on the PA-MD border drive this Sunday? Should be fun.
All: okay, okay, okay, I'm convinced. It's worth replacing all four speakers. Thanks for the help. Now, can anyone chime in with which speakers they've actually gotten from Lucid's site and what they think of them? Thanks.

PAS2KNut: sounds great. See you then. You'll have no problem finding me -- just listen for the guy with the truly obnoxious exhaust note -- hence my reluctance to spend much money on upgrading my stereo. ;-)
LUCID's Rear Kenwood 3-Way speakers. I can explain what I hear but it sounds GREAT. MORE than worth the price! As far as any other audio stuff...rear speakers are it for me....(I think
)
Thanks again Lucid.

Just so you guys know, I decided to go with:
Polk EX 365s in the front (with the new "drop in" price, the cost is under $100).
Polk DX4s in the rear ($120 plus $50 for the harness).
With shipping, I'm looking at just under $300, essentially twice my original budget. Hopefully these will silence the, "this stereo sucks," reaction I get every time I turn on the sound.
Let's just hope that I can hear them with those N1s in the back.
Thanks, all, for the help.

For those of you who've not done business with Lucid, I highly recommend them. The detailed instructions, "with the pictures and the arrows on the back telling what each one is about," (for those of you old enough to get the joke) are easy to follow, supported by great photographs, and cover everything you need to know. I installed my rear speakers in one hour and forty minutes, and I took my time. The sound improvement's tremendous. Can't wait to hear how the fronts sound, but they won't arrive until late next week. Thanks, Jim.
