Aftermarket head unit install not allowing facedoor to close
Hey guys,
Simple question, I had an after market Alpine headunit installed in my S2000 when I first got it
and the frame sticks out and doesn't allow the radio dash conceal door to close anymore. Has
anyone else had this problem and figured out a way around it.
Thanks for any advice

it is the Alpine MDA-7755. My S is a MY2000. So I got the stereo like 2 years ago. At the time the installer was afraid to
do anything to the car. Just was hoping that someone else may have come up with a solution. I just seems that the
frame around the faceplate sticks out too far, because even with the faceplate detached it still will not lock into place.

Got a PIC of the Unit? <looking a Manual> This looks like a standard single DIN unit. The only thing I can think of is that the installer mounted it using either the wrong mounting bracket (did not use the one on the Stock HU) or used a set of screw holes that make the unit sit too far forward.
I would think, that if you removed it from the dash, and looked at how he installed the brackets. I bet they could be pulled forward buy using other screw holes. This would make the unit sit farther back in the dash, and enable the door to be closed.
