Default Alpine AUDIO INTERRUPT IN

The Alpine CDA-7894 has a wire labled (Pink/Black) AUDIO INTERRUPT IN. This looks like a Mute function. Anyone have a clue what type of signal to send it? 12v + or 12v - ?

Thanks

There's an easy way to test it. While the radio is playing, touch the wire to a grounded point...if it mutes, you'll need a relay. If it doesn't, it's most likely a +12V mute circuit. I doubt many radios, if any, use -12V since that's not a voltage commonly found on vehicles.

I knew I could just try to ground out the wire, But I thought I would ask first. I did not want the take the chance with a new deck.

And I d mean Ground and not 12v -.

Thanks
