Default Alarm doesn't arm anymore

So here's what happened. At some point in my drive home today I deactivated my alarm, because my keyless remote won't lock the doors anymore, nor does the car automattically arm after 30 seconds. I looked in the library for help and found the section that details how to reprogram a remote. I tried it out anyway and it didn't work . Has this happened to anyone before? Don't make me resort to going to the dealer!

if you are talking 'bout the honda alarm, sounds like you might have it in the "valet" mode. in "valet" the key fob is inoperable.
If your indicator light iluminates when the dor is ajar, and otherwise does not blink, that is it. also be sure that you are using the alarm key fob and not the regular one.

alarm isn't the greatest, but it was thrown in by the dealer and you do not need extra key fobs.

Sweet I hope that's it. How did I put it in valet mode and how do I get it back?

honda part, right?

if it is in "valet" mode, who knows how?

hopefully that is all it is, when in valet mode the key fob will not open the door locks or trunk.

there is a push-button valet switch, mine is mounted under the dash. with the key out of the ignition, push and hold the button for more than three seconds. the indicator led light flashes twice. system is now in disarm mode. Also make sure that you are using the key fob for the alarm, the one for the car will not work. You should have gotten an owner's manual with the alarm installation. pm me if I can help.

I had the same exact problem and the alarm control unit had to be replaced, it just died. Painless warranty repair that was done in about 3-4 days. My local dealer tells me it's a fairly common problem with the S. Hope you're still under warranty!

Same problem with my Clifford alarm. The "brain" had to be replaced.
