Hi all, I searched and found some decent info but need a couple of things cleared up.

I bought a used s2k and i only go one key and no keyless remotes or anything. The two things I want to do are the following:

1. Get 2 new keyless entry remotes and make the car forget the old ones. I understand there is a way to add new ones (and there is a limit) assuming you already have one. I However dont have any, and would like to replace prevoius entries with new ones, I know I can get them on ebay.
a) I would also like to replace the stored entries for keys (except for one), and would like to know if key bought from ebay and cut at a nondealer location can be made to work with the car.


2. I would like to know how to tell if i have the optional factory alarm installed. I have read that the keyless remote has a different fcc id for the ones with alarm, and that the ones with optional alarm have a button to unlock the trunk (but i dont know if its supposed to say trunk or option). I do have a little red light that blinks near my stereo but i have never set the alarm.

 

1) yes you can buy any s2000 key fob and make it work with your s2k and the max is three key fobs per car. ( I have a few spares I could sell you)

WHen you say that you have some for sale, and that I can program them to work with the car. Do you know a way to program the car to accept the new ones even though I dont have any of the old ones?

The only instructions that I have seen involve having one that already works.

If you can tell me how to get the fob registered with the car (without and old one) then I will purchase some from you..
