Default Alarm recommendations?

My car was broken into and now I'm thinking I need an alarm. I have never really looked into them before. Can somebody please recommend a solution?
Thanks,
J

CompuSTAR makes a really nice setup. Some of the DEI ones are very nice as well, just get the higher end DEI's like the Viper for example.

DEI Viper 791xv is my favorite. My friend had that put on and he can control his convertable with a push of a button. Quite unique.

Compustars are nice if you want remote start also, I woudnt go with it if I was just doing an alarm. As everyone mentioned, anything from Directed is good. Viper and Clifford are on the same level, almost the same thing. You can control the top with any system as long it has auxiliary buttons, but you need to add in some relays and timers.
The G5 isnt officially released yet, but its supposed to be great, many more functions and features that will be able to be controlled through the remote instaed of the valet switch.

For the mean time the Viper 791 or Clifford 10.5X.
