Default Alpine 9807 problem

I just installed a sub in my car, and during re-installation of the head unit, I must have pushed a button or held one down too long, and it's gone into some form of disappearing act. Here's what happens:

I turn on the head unit, the CD display comes on, then after about 3 seconds, goes off, but the CD still plays fine. I'm sure it's some mode I put the player in, but I've lost the manual. I want to get the display to stay on during playback, not dissapear after 3 seconds...any advice?

you can download your manual here: http://www.stylestandard.net/oswego/login/alpinelogin

click "continue without login" (under password)
goto: owners manual, head units, cd head unit, archived owners manual, and then scroll down 9801.

Eureka! Thanks for your help, turns out there's a b.out (blackout button) that if depressed for 3x seconds, turns the display off for decreased power consumption. That's what I needed!
