Default MP3 head unit owners...

I just got the Alpine CDA-7878 & I tried to burn an mp3 disc. It plays music, however I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate the underscore & all caps I keep getting for the track names & album/artist title. I know I can switch the display to ID3 tags, but I want all my options open.

Can anybody tell what's the exact options for this in Roxio Easy CD Creator & NERO? I just got the NERO s/w & I wanted to know which s/w do all of you prefer & why? Thanks!

I can modify the ID3 tags using any of Winamp, EAC (Exact Audio Copy) or Cool Edit 2000. I use Nero to burn the CD at the end but I don't think it has function to modify the tags.

If you are talking about eliminating the caps/underscores from the filenames, you will want to burn the disc with ISO Level2 enabled. However make sure your head unit can read ISO Level2 disks. My Kenwood HU can read ISO Level1 only.

ID3 tags are a lot more flexible. I use EAC to rip, Monkey's Audio (with LAME encoder) to apply ID3 tags/encode and NERO to burn. Another handy utility is MPtagger to edit ID3 tags on multiple files.

The alpine model I have does have ISSO9660 level 2 support. There have been many people online who've said they've eliminated the all caps/underscore w/this head unit (Forgot where online). What I'm trying to ask is, how do you enable level 2 support and/or eliminated underscores/all caps w/in NERO & Easy CD Creator???

I dunno about Easy CD creator, but in NERO, go to the File Options tab (in the New Compilation window that pops up when you first fire it up, or when you do a File ->New). You should see the option to turn on ISO Level2. I'm using NERO ver 5.0.3.8. Later versions may have that option in a different place.

I use musicmatch to rip, musicmatch to code/ID3 tag, and I could use it to burn but I like easy cd creator. If you are looking for a solid foolproof way to do it, use musicmatch.

I use easy Roxio CD Creator 5 .
From the main menu I select Audio CD then arrow over to MP3 Disc.
It creates an M3U list on the dics and puts a file called Play.exe for some reason. I think it is to preserve long file names which are truncated when using Nero , ISO Level 1
