Guess what? When I got home from work the first thing I did was plug in my iPod and play around with the deck again, this time it worked fine. I can select the playlists by scrolling through the lists and then just pushinig the "play/pause" button. I can switch between playlists with the remote by pushing up or down. Thank you everybody for such quick help and advice. This forum is great. Another big THANK YOU ladies and gentlemen!!!

This also took me awhile to figure out when I first installed mine. When you select "playlist" and scroll up and down your playlists, you can push the "play/pause" button to start playing that playlist. But, once you push that button that you used to get to your playlist (the one the left side), and it goes into one of your playlist...(where you then are able to go up and down the list of songs in that particular playlist)...you then have to push the "mode" button (the one underneath the volume knob) to play the song you want. I hope this make sense.
