Alpine 9885 vs. 9857

both units are the same, I don't like the red buttons.

Both units are not created equal. I am upgrading from the 9857 to 9885, mostly because of the 4V pre-outs and ability to disable the internal amp. If you are running an amps only set-up I would consider saving some money and going with the less expensive 9885.

You can disable the internal amp on the 9857. In fact you have to do it to tune the amp.
