Trouble with DCI

Trouble with DCI
Hello all. The dash buttons do not respond w/ the DCI unit installed. I already emailed bob@modifry.com for some help. Im posting here, just in case someone has run into the same problem.
I connected the DCI unit, but the only button that works is the mute button (Alpine interrupt). The radio does not respond to the Mode, CH, Vol Up, & Vol Down dash buttons. The Alpine radio is fully functional, as if there was no DCI connected.

Alpine 9857
Modifry Honda Harness
Modifry Alpine Wired DCI
I checked:
- the proper dip switch settings
- continuity of all wires
- made sure the 3.5mm stereo plug is on securely
- correct voltage on DCI red wire 12.41v
- good ground from black to red wire 12.41v
- voltage is within 10% tolerance on DCI green wire w/ all buttons
- resistance is within 10% tolerance on DCI green wire w/ all buttons
Is there anything else I need to check? If needed, I can take a pic of the wiring setup.

My only guess would have been to recheck the 3.5mm plug, since that gave me some trouble by coming loose as wiggled the head unit back in. That plug...at least on mine wasn't a tight fit. Barring that, you've already checked everything I can think of. So I'd guess it's defective.

I recently installed a new Alpine HU w/ the wired DCI and found out that in the process of tucking wires and seating the new HU, the 3.5mm connector came out and my DCI was not working. The giveaway was that the mute function (wired from the DCI to the HU's harness) worked perfectly but none of the other dash control commands worked.
I removed the HU and found the 3.5mm connector unseated. I pushed it in fully and voila! The DCI worked perfectly.
This by the way is such a nicer option than the IR version. It's so much cleaner in appearance.
In short, the 3.5mm connector does not fit at all tightly into the jack on the back of the Alpine HU and can easily become unseated when inserting the HU into place.
