Alpine CDA-105 iPod help

Are there pins on the iPod cable you have and 13 holes for the iPod cable in on the rear of the receiver?

Looks like the cable was the culprit, ran it via USB, and it worked fine. The above cable did power and allow the iPod to play through the head unit, just didnt allow control.
