Alpine CDA-9855 and KCE-865B
Based on a couple of owner's experiences with this setup, it seemed as if installation to the existing Honda wiring harness was completely plug and play with the KCE-865B. After pulling the OEM head unit in my 2004, I quickly realized that my installation would not be plug and play
... The KCE-865B does have a female blue connector that interfaces with the OEM head unit's blue connector. However, it also has 2 additional male connectors, neither of which fit the 9855's connector.
After struggling with the interconnections for a bit, I then noticed that the KCE-865B's wires were pre-labeled describing each of their functions. In fact, after looking at the wiring harness that came with the 9855, it became evident that the colors matched up between the 865B and the 9855, so I just needed to connect them accordingly. Once I finished this, the only remaining struggle was getting everything tucked back into the radio bay. The dash controls work just as before, with no delay (as reported by many).
For those who performed this installation and it was completely plug and play, did you have an additional harness to connect 865B's 2 male connectors to the 9855's single connector?

Would you mind sharing with the class how you obtained the KCE-865B?
I found in an earlier thread that I could obtain one by contacting Keith Dipper (waso2000@btconnect.com). I PayPal'd him

I have nothing other than the Alpine adaptor. Maybe they changed it since I bought mine in 2001.
