1. For AP2s, do you have to remove the centre console, if you're just installing an HU?
(this thread provided conflicting answers..though nice pics: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/404.../page__st__150)

2. For those of you who installed the mic, where did you thread the wire through? and how did you conceal the wire?
1. If you're not going to run the iPod cable to the rear, you don't need to remove the center console, just the part that has the radio door that surrounds the headunit. EDIT: Actually, looking at the pics again, I'm not sure if the center console gets in the way of removing the radio door trim but I took it all apart since I followed that guide to run the iPod cable. JD NC is right, it's really easy to remove anyway.

2. I clipped the mic near the top A pillar trim and just ran the wire down under the dash to the headunit. The mic clip slots in perfectly between two plastic support pieces on the underside of the trim. I wanted to have the mic on the horizontal windshield plastic trim but couldn't find a way to have the clip fit while snapping the trim piece back in place.

2. I never found a good place for the mic, and went back to my jawbone era headset. Sound cancellation may have improved over the last couple models though. Others have had good results to the left of the center stack next to your right thigh. Even though it's farther from your mouth, it's better to keep it below your chestline with a clear sightline, since the wind noise is much lower down within the cabin.
Cool thanks, will give this a go...

Also, does anyone know how to remove the passenger side dash on an AP2 so I can access the wire where I can attach the SCV?

I see one screw near the centre (faces the seat), and 2 plastic caps on the side (they face inwards) w/ centre cap (it looks like a bullseye) that depressed and made a "click" when I pushed it in w/ a push-tool. now it's stuck in the depressed state.

Also, maybe it's just me, but it seems like a lot of force was required to move the centre console from the clips near the hand brake (it was easy towards the back)...was worried I would snap something so I left it alone.

You need to remove the clips with the push pins. I had my knife and just pried it out. Remove the screw in the center, then you can pull it off.

On another note. I got my 148bt installed and it was a good improvement. I tried to use the tuneit app, but it doesn't seem to be adjusting. Does it automatically transfer while you're adjusting from the app?
