Default Alpine HU 9851 v. 9851

I just bought the Alpine 9851 from crutchfield. Thanks to their excellent return policy I can, for $40, easily exchange for the 9853. I am running rear speakers and I was thinking maybe the time delay on the 9853 would come in useful.

The question is, is the 9853 too annoyingly complicated to use? On the other hand the 9851 seems a little short on adjustability.

Any ideas?

the CDA-9853 does have a better eq but it also has the glide-touch feature which kind of sucks on the 9853 compared to the 9855, don't ask me why they're different but they are. as for the time delay, with suhc a small cabin, it won't make much of a difference

IMO it does make a difference. I just replaced my 9851 with a 7995. The time correction (especially the bass focus option) creates a world of difference. I think it has to do with the positioning of the speaker on the driver's side (next to the leg). I noticed quite a bit of difference.....personally.
