Default Wired Mute Inop w/IR DCI and 9856

I just installed my new Alpine CDA-9856 with Modifry IR-DCI (great product!). Everything works as it should with the exception of the wired mute feature (DCI blue wire) interfaced to the Alpine pink/black interrupt wire.

I triple checked that the proper wires are connected and the connection itself is good (solder and shrink...I know someone will suspect a butt splice ). When DCI Switch 3 (defeat IR Mute) is set to off, the mute function does not work, although the mute wires are connected and the function is enabled in the 9856 (it's a menu item in Setup).

This is not really a problem for me as I went ahead and reenabled the IR Mute. Not pausing the the CD per the hard wire mute is no big deal. I just wanted to report in since the 9856 is still fiarly new and this might be an issue. Otherwise, having a great time with the new setup!

My 9856 and Modifry IR DCI work perfectly, including the Mute function through the Interrupt input. There is no problem with these two products working together.

That's great news that mkbruce is 100% functional. It would appear that what is happening in my setup is a nonissue. Maybe I just have a "quirky" CDA-9856.
