anyone have a buzzing problem with this head unit? mine buzzes around 2 - 3k rpm and it goes away when I put my finger on it. if I detach the face from the head unit and shake it, it rattles.

just trying to figure out if I should try to exchange this.

Picture Pro - Have you adjusted the sensitivity on the SCV? There should be 3 settings with the toggles on the unit..... one changes really quickly, and get progressively slower. Most use the slowest setting, or in my case, none at all.... Trying to scroll through all the artists with the volume constantly refreshing the screen is most annoying. I just turned it off.

Larry H - I would return it. Mine is tight as a button. Is it the faceplate that is rattling within the unit, or the unit rattling within the harness / brackets? Two different stories....

it's the faceplate buzzing within itself. if I detach it from the head unit and put it down, the noise goes away.

I was hoping that the faceplate rattled against the unit as that is an easier fix, but no luck.

Nope. I would take it back. Sounds like a Quality Assurance issue with the unit. They should replace it, but bring it down IN THE CAR, and show them the rattle, so they don't call you a liar..... shops love to do that..

the DCI has 15 SCV settings. The stock preset #4 was not enough.
I set it on 9, I have a loud spugen exhaust and the 9 setting works for me

CHP tickets over 80mph on the toll road and 75-79mph are speed I travel often.Changing Artist USB or radio stations, the SCV keep changing and right in the middle of looking for a new song.... Volume change then start over

I have a appt with the installer to go through 2 DCI and the radio. Its lookin to be
the radio

John,

What causes the volume to refresh while scrolling through artists? Is it not worth purchasing the SCV for use with this HU?

Thanks,
Phil

SCV = volume changes at speed every 4-5mph up volume, slow down 4-5mph volume down.
(SCV has 15 programed combos for volume to change, stock is #4 mild gains)
If you are lookin for a new radio station preset and just happen to be gaining speed
SCV volume up. and you loose you spot. same with Ipod/ USB speed up or down
SCV will take 1st priority and again loose your spot looking for new artist.

I love the SCV for around town topdown you have a good volume at a light and then speed up to 35-45mph? and volume up 5-6x's equal to your speed. then slowdown it equally volumes down.

Maybe it just my radio F-ing up and constant speed 74? to 78 mph hunts for volume

I have the buzzing noise too. Seems like it was in the upper left corner of the detachable face part. I just pulled it off and reattached and it went away.

I wonder if this head unit can rock the iPhone?
This is what I'm waiting for...

I'm gonna start looking for a mounting bracket that attaches to the vent above the air controls, and then run the cable from either the passenger side and up or up through the vents above the HU if possible.
