Now that a number of you have used this deck for an extended period, how good is this deck, in a car like the s2000 (where you don't want to spend too much time finding what you want to listen to)?

As for the Modifry DCI, let's say you had already selected Artist, then Album via the HU itself. Can you now advance to the next track of the album with the dash controls?

Thanks,
Phil

I love it. Very much like using the ipod. Although the center wheel isnt the be all like it is on the ipod.

As for the DCI you can advance to the next track. FTW

with the LCD on the far side of the HU, and with the positioning low, and behind the shifter in the S2K, is the text on the screen fairly easy to read? is glare a big problem, or just an occassional annoyance?

what else, besides track advance, do you use the DCI for in manipulating the iPod?

The DCI just does the track advance (and mute, obviously).

I'll get back to you on glare tomorrow, my car's been in the garage for a whole week now through the stereo install.....I'll finally get to drive it again tomorrow (or tonight). Woohoo!

Glare sucks, I can't see a damn thing on it with the top down, and if I have my Maui Jim's on (polarized) I can see even less (if thats possible). But I still love mine.

All right I bought my IDA on ebay for $304 shipped and the guy threw in a honda wiring harness for free, also ordered my wired DCI from bob @ modifry. With the issues I've seen with the scv I think I'm gonna skip it for now. I also have the 422i cable from my old car which had a 9856 in it.
So the question is am I missing anything? How easy is the modifry install?

So it's kinda hard to see under the sun, especially so with sunglasses on. Not so much a problem if you're stopped and can concentrate on it, but don't expect to read it at a glance while driving. Outside of that it's awesome.

I'm not sure if the SCV feature of my DCI is working. Either I didn't tap the wire good enough, or I'm not running an aggressive enough level of compensation.

cseagen - what issues have you heard of?
