Alpine iDA-X001
In regards to the DCI and SCV and how it takes over when working with the iPod menu. The DCI has 2 setting for the SCV settings. One can be set to off and then the dash controls can be used to select between the 2 settings. When getting ready tune the iPod, you can switch the SCV to off (hold MODE and press CH) and the iPod menu operation won't be interrupted. You do need to toggle it back on via the same buttons.
I have this Alpine in my s2000 now. It's great! I have sirius and a cd changer hooked up. I also have the USB for my ipod and the bluetooth kit. It's the best radio I've had in my s2000 so far.
Revival:
I'm about to purchase one of these with a bluetooth module. Does anyone have the bluetooth adapter? If so, does it work to your liking?
Did anyone try the USB HD just to see if it worked?
Thanks!

Not sure about HD, but it reads file structures on flash... I am not sure if it can do that with steady-state memory (like a HD)...
Also, I would THINK the bluetooth would work wonderful with this HU. I know for a fact that it displays the caller info on the HU when they call (seen a demonstration), and the HU even has a built-in "phone" button. Give it a shot.
Weird. I had the EXACT same issue with my KCA-420i adapter prior to this HU... It would even show the "Alpine" screen, but no recognition.... it only did it in the mornings too... I think it was a loose connection that firmed up as the joints heated / expanded as the day went on...

everytime I get in it, I have to unplug and replug my ipod back in or it can't find it.

Thanks. I was concerned about the sound being audible and my own voice being intelligible through the background noise in the car. I have a hard time hearing others when talking on the phone with a regular handset.
Well the item has been purchased. I'll be busy for a few weeks and won't be able to get to the install until after Christmas.
HankookS2K, where does the BT adapter fit? Does it make installation more difficult?
Thanks!
