im not sure if it does or not...i have never tried to play videos yet. I doubt it though....the ipersonalize does not work with the ida. the only thing you may download from alpine is the different backgrounds.

you can not mess with certain aspects of the bass and treble so the ipersonalize option is not an option through the alpine site.

you have to convert them to APN....i dont know how yet..im looking for software to do it....

masahito - you do not need the full speed cable from apline because this deck comes with one that runs through USB. you can buy the full speed to add another ipod if you wish.
The USB supports only the 5G ipod, and the Nanos. All others will require the full-speed cable. Which means I have to budget for a new ipod to go along with the deck...

B.Money: Both have wired remote inputs, the alpine's have been much better with iPods in the past, and since the Pioneer still uses that external box to connect to the ipod, the alpine should still be far superior for ipod functionality and speed (those ext control boxes are horribly slow). I'm sure the alpine will provide much more info on the screen too when using the ipod.

Personally I never use the CD player in my 9857 since I have an ipod in the car, but don't see a need to "upgrade" to this unit either..
okay awesome, since i dont know about the generations and all that stuff. will both these head units work with the ipod mini? with the black and white screen???think its a 6gb

Oh also does one or the other or both possibly Turn off the iPod after the car is turned off? i would hate to have to remember to turn off my iPod every time i get out of my car.

Both should work with a mini fine, the alpine will for sure as the mini was the first to use the doc connector IIRC.

Neither turn off the ipod... just let it die, it'll recharge next time you drive anyways. I never turn mine off.

okay, do they turn back on once you turn on the car or do you have to do that each time you want to listen to it?

And whats this about the USB flash drive? does this work just like the iPod would? can you search by like artist and such from your HU?

ouch looking at the site... under accessories it looks like a lot of the stuff are extras?? such as using bluetooth w/ cellphone you also have to buy a $200 extra box to do this, or for using the USB flash drives also a different unit...nothing included?? is this right? or am I looking at it wrong or something?

Noob question - where do you keep the iPod when you have it connected? Do you run a cable through to the glove box? Can you close the radio lid and still have the iPod connected?

But to bump my question does this come with the bluetooth built in??? only cause i know the pioneer one does if not things like 200 bucks!
