it is really simple. I work at best buy as an installer and it should take them no more than 15 minutes to get the radio our and fix the wire and get everything together. when I first started as an installer I missed this a couple times.

UPDATE: so i just got finished talking to the best buy installer and he said that its common to get more static with aftermarket HU. i asked him about the power wire for the antenna (blue wire) amp and he said its connected and all. the only problem would probably be the deck being an aftermarket HU. he suggested i get a Radio Enhancer to enhance the radio which plugs right behind the HU. are any of you experiencing this problem with the X100? also i am running a 350z antenna.... could that be the problem? i am really unhappy with how this HU is turning out. i dont believe that an aftermarket HU will give you crappier reception...........

I dunno about that. Did they take it apart and look, or just say that it is connected? I personally have no experience with static, but I haven't listened to the radio in quite some time, I even took out the antenna.

This is a gimmick to get more $$ out of you.

Tell him to "fix your F'n HU already".

Straight up, if you're getting more static than out of the stock HU, your antenna is probably not being properly powered.

If it's static only when the radio's on, then it's likely the antenna. If there's static from all sources, then it's a HU ground issue.
